Treasure Hunt!!

I know I go on, but I really do love Chester! My other half and I love getting into adventures and are always up for a outing or fun. Recently someone bought us a treasure hunt - the idea beingthat you  follow the clues around the Chester City Centre to reveal the hidden answer. We followed the Chester Map, starting at the cross and walking around the city including town hall, the river, the wall, coliseum - everything that makes Chester, Chester!
The Town crier started just as we did - accidental timing on our part. We stopped to listen embracing the "stay-cation" theme to the day. What was extra nice about the town crier, was he took the time to make sure that a visitor who had rented a mobility scooter from Shopmobility was escorted to the front so she could see him through he crowd. Brownie points Mr Crier!

We came across this gem of a cafe too. Have lived in Chester for nearly 6 years and never seen it. Didn't get a chance to stop but it's on our list of things to do in Chester!

My other half at the chester river. Such a pretty site - apart from the dreaded "salmon leap" pre-fabs over the water!

Me by the Chester Clock. I'm told this is the second most photographed clock in the Uk.. Fountain of interesting facts I am!

What was best about this, is that the other half and I are always looking for cheap things - or better yet - free things to do in Chester. There is nearly always things happening, but this - on our own time and our own pace, was perfect for us! They have maps and treasure hunts for cities and towns all over the country. We will now be rare-exploring our local towns and cities and would definitely use this rather than a tour guide. Bargain at only £6.00! It took us around 3 hours doing it slowly and stopping for a quick bite to eat. You don't have to pay entry to anywhere in order to complete, and you ca even text for hints and clues! Check out your home city on threat nice day you have - with kiss or without. Great fun!

We got it all from

Ps - I am in no way connected to this company or product (or anything else I blog about!) just my opinions! Happy hunting!

Pps - anyone have any ideas or tips for more free/cheap fun things to recommend? What tips do you have for a fun day out? :-)
